Basics

SimplaZEN is my theme based on the wonderful Simpla theme originally designed by Phu. It is a very readable and Adsense-ready minimalist 2-column theme with subdued colors and graphics.

Legal stuff

As per the Simpla theme, this theme is licensed under a CC Attribution-ShareAlike license.

What’s in it?

Included in the package is the PSD and font for the header image. SimplaZEN supports the following plugins out-of-the-box:

1. Extended Live Archives
2. Related Posts
3. Ultimate Tag Warrior

There’s built-in support for Matt’s Asides technique as well. To set it up, you’ll need to open the init.php file included in the download, look for the line where it says:

// Your asides category
define("ASIDES_CAT", "xxx");

and replace ‘xxx’ with your Asides category’s ID.

There are bits and pieces of (incomplete) Adsense code that conform to the theme’s color scheme. All you need to do is insert your Publisher ID and channel ID’s.

Installation

Download the zip above and extract to your wp-content/themes/ folder, activate from your WordPress admin, and that’s it! If you already have the aforementioned plugins installed, there’s no need to tweak anything. I’ve included the font and the background graphic (PSD) in the ZIP for your convenience.
